The prototype Miles M.57 Aerovan being flown by George Miles, its designer. U-0248 was first flown on January 26, 1945, by Tommy Rose. The prototype Aerovan differed from production aircraft in its rectangular cabin windows and shorter fuselage. Registered G-AGOZ, this Aerovan visited several European countries during 1945-46 and was later used to fly a scale mock-up of a Mamba engine nacelle, which was mounted outboard of the starboard engine. The prototype was scrapped at Woodley in 1949.

Miles M.57 Aerovan 3 G-AIDI, registered in September 1946, seen in the livery of Woodley-based Air Contractors. In February 1949 'DI was sold in Beirut, Lebanon, where it remained until broken up following expiry of its C of A in 1951.

Miles M.57 Aerovan 4 G-AILC being flown by Hugh Kendall. Mk 4s were fitted with eight circular cabin windows and produced in greater numbers than other marks.

The M.68 taking off from Woodley with the freight container in place. It was carrying a consignment of Biro ballpoint pens - another product of the Miles Aircraft company.

The sole Miles M.68 Boxcar flying without its 4ft 6in wide and 10ft long container. The M.68 used an Aerovan wing and tail unit, to which were fitted four 100 h.p. Blackburn Cirrus Minor Ils. It could carry a payload of 1,400lb. The Boxcar first flew on August 22, 1947 and was demonstrated at that year's Farnborough show. After the Miles company folded the M.68 was scrapped in 1948.

The sole Miles M.71 Merchantman, powered by four 250 h.p. D.H. Gipsy Queen 30s, taking off from Woodley in mid-1947. Its maiden flight was made from there on August 7, 1947 in the hands of Ken Waller. It was allocated the marks G-AILJ, but the registration was never used. After appearing at the 1947 Farnborough show the M.71 was scrapped.
