A grievous loss to the UK preservation scene: Nick Grace, seen here in front of his Hispano Buchon at the Coventry airshow on August 5, 1988, was killed in a road accident on October 14.

Structural repairs are now complete on the CAF's P-82 Twin Mustang N12102 which crashed at Harlingen on October 10 last year, but propellers are still being sought - particularly a reverse-rotation one for the starboard side.

Based at Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia, Airworld Stinson Reliant VH-CWM has recently reappeared in a gleaming new red and white colour scheme, representative of the 1936-41 period when it was registered VH-UXL.

Last surviving Chrislea Skyjeep VH-OLD, first seen in October 1984's Grapevine as the half-restored VH-RCD/G-AKVR, was up for sale in Australia in early October for A$45,000 (L21,000).

A new machine at Duxford is Graham Warner's Morane MS.505 Criquet (licence-built Fieseler Storch) F-BJQC, which arrived from the Dordogne on October 14, 1988. Originally built as a more Storch-shaped Argus-powered MS.500, it was reengined with a Jacobs radial in 1960. There are plans to change it back to an Argus engine, and next season it will join the British Aerial Museum's display fleet, painted in a Luftwaffe Russian front winter scheme of white, blue and grey.
