On order for the Military Air Transport Service, the Lockheed C-121C will be the fastest military transport in service anywhere. It will carry 75 passengers, or 47 stretcher patients plus hospital attendants, or 28.000 lb. of bulk cargo, at a cruising speed of 335 m.p.h.
