North Weald, September 1940. Part of the squadron before the “foreigners” appeared on the scene. The aircraft are Hurricanes supplied to the squadron shortly before the Battle.

A photograph taken at North Weald late in 1940. The Frenchman is Fayolle, who was not involved in the incidents described here. It is thought that he was killed a year or so later.
