Singapore Airline's days of operating Boeing 747s on its mainline routes came to an end on April 6, 2012. This aircraft made the last flight of the type carrying passengers with the flag carrier.

Boeing 747-412 9V-SPQ (c/n 28025) first flew on October 24, 2011, and was delivered one week later to Singapore Airlines. It was withdrawn from service by the carrier on April 6 after Flight SQ748 and is due to go to Transaero Airlines as EI-XLO.
