Four of the 22 Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Block 52 Fighting Falcons currently in Morocco flew a formation display at the Marrakech Aero Expo. The first batch arrived in August 2011 at the 6th Base Aerienne des Forces Royales Air (BAFRA) Benguerir. The final pair of the order for 24 F-16s currently remain in the United States undergoing trials and evaluations.

Lockheed KC-130H Hercules CN-AOR (c/n 4907) is seen trailing its underwing refuelling hoses for a pair of Northrop F-5E Tiger IIIs, while an upgraded Dassault Mirage F1EH and an F-16D Fighting Falcon fly alongside. In recent years Morocco has invested heavily in its combat aircraft force, purchasing the F-16 and upgrading both the Tigers and the Mirages.

The Royal Moroccan Air Force is currently upgrading 27 Dassault Mirage F1s to Mirage MF2000 standard. The programme uses avionics installed in the Mirage 2000-5 and 2000-9, with two colour glass cockpit displays, hands-on throttle and stick controls, a new head-up display, a smaller version of the Thales RC-400 (RDY-3) radar from the 2000-5, and a zero-zero ejection seat. Both Mirage F1EH 164 and F1CH 134 have been modernised, as can be seen from the 'RDY' in small letters on the radome.

Alenia C-27J Spartan CN-AMN (c/n 4150) is one of four that has been delivered to the Royal Moroccan Air Force. The order for the medium transports was placed in 2008.

Another debut in Moroccan colours at this year's event was the Bombardier 415. The air force has ordered five of the firefighting aircraft, with both of those already delivered on display at Marrakech, including CN-ATN (c/n 2180, ex C-GKCX). The other three are due to be delivered in 2012.
