Bombardier 415 Superscooper

   В декабре 1986 года компания "Canadair Ltd" была куплена фирмой "Bombardier Inc.", а в августе 1988 года образовалась группа "Canadair Group of Bombardier Inc.". Эти исторические события произошли в период, когда "Canadair" вела разработку турбовинтового варианта летающей лодки-амфибии CL-215. Замена поршневых моторов турбовинтовыми двигателями обещала повышение летных данных, увеличение тяговооруженности и облегчала снабжение самолета топливом и запасными частями.    Первый CL-415 поднялся в воздух 6 декабря 1993 года, канадский сертификат летной годности был получен в июне, а сертификат США - в октябре 1994 года. В декабре 1994 года первую машину передали Франции. Изначально предполагалось построить 50 самолетов первой производственной серии, но к маю 2009 года заказчики получили 67 самолетов, к этому времени компания получила заказы на 71 машину.
   CL-415 унаследовал проверенный планер амфибии CL-215, хотя в конструкцию самолета внесли ряд изменений, самым важным из которых стала установка двух турбовинтовых двигателей Pratt & Whitney Canada PW123AF, гондолы которых разместили над крылом, чтобы поднять выше ось вращения новых четырехлопастных винтов Hamilton Standard. К другим заметным внешним отличиям относятся небольшие винглеты на концах крыла, установленные для повышения поперечной устойчивости. С целью компенсации потери путевой устойчивости из-за перемещения вверх двигателей, доработали хвостовое оперение. Также была увеличена мощность приводов поверхностей управления, установлена система централизованной заправки топливом под давлением, приборное оборудование выполнено по принципу "стеклянной кабины", заменена электросистема, установлен кондиционер кабины. Конструкция планера усилена с целью увеличения максимальной взлетной массы, установлены четыре бака для воды или противопожарной смеси суммарной емкостью 6140 л.
   В стандартном варианте амфибия CL-415 предназначена для тушения пожаров, а также перевозки грузов и пассажиров. Обычно самолет обозначают просто "415" или "415 Superscooper". Противопожарный самолет может быть достаточно легко переоборудован в транспортный. Даже в противопожарном варианте самолет способен перевозить до восьми пассажиров, после переоборудования пассажировместимость возрастает до 30 человек. Если установленные над полом кабины баки для воды не демонтируются, то самолет способен перевозить груз и до 11 пассажиров, кресла для пассажиров ставятся перед и за баками. "Canadair" также предлагает вариант CL-415M, предназначенный для патрулирования морских акваторий, выполнения поисково-спасательных и специальных задач. На CL-415M предусмотрена возможность установки РЛС, современной навигационной системы и другого специального оборудования. В серию самолет запущен как Bombardier 415MP.

    Bombardier 415 C-FUDY (c/n 2069) night stopped at Dublin in Ireland on September 14, 2008 during its delivery flight to the Ejercito de l'Aire (Spanish Air Force). Once in Spain the aircraft relinquished its delivery markings for its Spanish military identity, UD 14-03/'43-33'. The aircraft began its delivery flight three days earlier at North Bay, Ontario, and night-stopped at Goose Bay, Newfoundland in Canada; Reykjavik in Iceland and Dublin in Ireland, before arriving at Torrejon Air Base to join Ala 12 of Grupo 43 on September 15 Its arrival increases the number of Bombardier 415s in the Spanish inventory to three.

    Seen here at Torrejon Air Base on September 4, 2006 is newly delivered Bombardier 415 UD14-01 '43-31' (c/n 2064), the first of nine amphibious aircraft purchased by the Spanish Government to help on the fight against the forest fires. This is the first Bombardier 415 for the Spanish Air Force’s 43 Grupo, which already operates a fleet of 14 CL-215Ts at Torrejon. The new aircraft will, however, be assigned to the new Unidad Militar de Emergencies (UME, Military Emergency Unit). Externally the new amphibian can be identified by the fact that it is the only 43 Grupo aircraft without the St Andrew's cross painted on the rudder.

    A second Bombardier CL415 was delivered to the Royal Moroccan Air Force recently. The aircraft (c/n 2080, to become CNA-TN) is seen transiting Manchester Airport on May 10, 2011 wearing the test registration C-GKCX. It will join CNA-TM (c/n 2079, ex C-GISO), which was delivered via the Azores in February. No details of the Moroccan order have been released, although at least four (and probably five) are believed to be destined for the north African nation. Bombardier announced that it delivered four CL415s between the end of January 2010 and January 2011, and received one new net order for the type in the same period.

    On November 3, 2013 Bombardier delivered the first Model 415 Superscooper to be acquired by an American operator. The water bomber (C-GUZF, c/n 2089) was handed over at the Canadian manufacturer's North Bay facility in Ontario, Canada, to Tenax Aerospace of Ridgeland, Mississippi, and will be operated by Aero-Flite of Kingman, Arizona, under contract to the US Forest Service from December. The B415 is the 50th built at North Bay, where production moved after 39 had been built at the Dorval plant at Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, Quebec. Aero-Flite currently operates three earlier Canadair CL-215s for the US Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management in Alaska as well as two owned by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

    Tanker #260 is the latest version of the Bombardier CL-415 SuperScooper that was developed from the Canadair line of CL-215 Scooper amphibious firefighting aircraft. Tanker #260 is one of four new purpose-built SuperScoopers for Aero-Flite, which is the largest private operator of the type. Able to fill its 1,621 US gallon (6,136 litre) tank in only 12 seconds from a water source as shallow as 6.5ft (1.9m) deep and 300ft (91m) wide, the CL-415 is also capable of delivering foam and retardants from air attack bases.

    Bombardier 415MP M71-01 (c/n 2068) operated by the Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, MMEA) arrived at Manchester Airport on December 17, 2010, for a night stop during its ferry flight back to Malaysia from St Johns in Newfoundland, Canada. It was modified at St Johns to bring it up to the same standard as the MMEA's second B415MP (M71-02, c/n 2071, ex C-FWLK). The work included the addition of a Honeywell Primus 660 nose radar, forward observation window, enlarged cargo door, Swedish Space Corporation MSS 6000 side-looking airborne radar, underwing FLIR System SeaFLIR forward looking infrared imaging system and repainting. It previously pasted through Manchester on its delivery flight in November 2008, registered C-FTBZ and was formally handed over to the MMEA on January 23, 2009.
