The forward fuselage and nose of the NH90 NFH incorporates the HELRAS long-range active sonar radome (underside), the manual/auto-track FLIR (centre), electronic warfare system antennas (left and right of the FLIR) and an omnidirectional electronic warfare system antenna (lower right side of the FLIR).

Royal Netherlands Navy aircrew use the Gentex helmet which features an NVG-mount (top middle). Crew slide the NVG mounting bracket into place before flight. Plans are afoot to migrate in the near future to the Alpha Eagle helmet produced by Helmet Integrated Systems Ltd.
