  • Регистрационный номер: E8001

Unfortunately this Snipe cannot he identified, but it and its neighbours are of 43 Sqn, and all are early production Snipes with plain ailerons on the upper wings. This appears to be aircraft “D" of the unit, an identity earlier borne by E8001 when the squadron was at Fienvillers, and it has an underfuselage carrier for the usual quartet of 25lb Cooper bombs.

  • Регистрационный номер: E8057

This overturned Sopwith Snipe is E8057 of 70 Sqn, conspicuously marked with the three white hands round the rear fuselage that were the unit's identifying marking, plus the stripes on the engine cowling that 70 Sqn affected after the Armistice. Apparently E8057 was repaired and returned to service, for it has been attributed at a later date to 4 Sqn, Australian Flying Corps.

  • Регистрационный номер: F1067

Airco D.H.9A F1067 was built by Westland. The other D.H.9A to the left bears the early markings of 110 Sqn on its nose, but F1067 is not necessarily of that unit. It is unarmed, the Scarff ring has been removed and there appears to be a double opening in the top decking aft of the rear cockpit, suggesting that it might have served as a communications aircraft.

  • Регистрационный номер: F927, F934

These are S.E.5as of 29 Squadron, all late-production aircraft with Wolseley Viper engines and the late all-wood undercarriage. Aircraft “F” at left is F934, while “A” is F927, both from the batch F851 - F950 built by the Wolseley Motor Co. The aircraft second from left appears to be Vickers-built from the batch F551-F615. Aircraft “D" and “F” have underfuselage carriers for four 25lb Cooper bombs.

  • Регистрационный номер: B8802

This Handley Page O/400, B8802, was the first of a batch of 12 built at RAE Farnborough. It arrived at Martlesham Heath for performance trials on July 18, 1918; these were completed by August 10, but the aircraft remained there for further trials. These ended by August 31, and B8802 went to Orfordness on September 7. On June 30, 1919, it was flown to Grain via Rochford.

  • Регистрационный номер: A3933, A697

While efforts are made to start the RAF 4A engine of B.E.12a A697, Martinsyde F.1 A3933 takes off. The B.E.12a has no Vickers gun in place, but there is an elevated Strange-type mounting for a Lewis gun ahead of the cockpit. A597 was struck off charge on July 21, 1918.
