This Belgian-built Tipsy B G-AFCM survived the war only to be burnt at the British company's factory at Slough when it closed down in 1952.

Vega Gull G-AFBW with difficult-to-read registration became the Royal Navy's W9377 on impressment but its subsequent fate is not known.

First owned by H.F. Broadbent, Vega Gull G-AFEH became G-AHVN after the war but although the error was corrected it was wfu in 11.50 and later broken up at Blackpool.

Used as a flying test bed by the Bristol Aeroplane Co for the Hercules development programme, G-AFBT was the only Northrop 2L Gamma registered in the UK. It was dismantled before the end of the war.

Another pre-war shot (surely not at the same Party?) this time depicting the Shuttleworth Hanriot G-AFDX which is now in the RAF Museum at Hendon.

Short Bros was nothing if not busy during the immediate pre-war years, with development work continuing on the company’s C-class Empire flying-boats, the Stirling four-engined bomber and the larger, transatlantic brother of the C-class, the G-class, the first of which, G-AFCI Golden Hind, is seen here at Rochester. In addition, work was gathering pace on the S.32 landplane airliner, also to be capable of transatlantic services.

BA Swallow G-AFCL is still current but when photographed at Tollerton on 29.9.62 it sported a distinctly crushed style of fin and rudder.

The Taylor Young Model A G-AFDN at a pre-war gathering, possibly the RAeS Garden Party at Heathrow on May 8th 1938 (?) Though impressed on 31.7.41 it was soc 1.12.41 as unsuitable, being used as an instructional airframe at Bury St.Edmonds. It did not survive to be restored after the war.
