  • Регистрационный номер: M-MWAP

Back in 1981 one of the accidents listed involved "Numancia", a CASA-built Wal registered M-MWAP, which on 21.6.29 put down in the Atlantic and was found by HMS 'Eagle'. It is shown here after being salvaged on the flight deck of the carrier, in a photograph originally published in 1931.

  • Регистрационный номер: G-ABAO, G-ABBW

This photograph (which originally appeared in 'The Modern Boys Book of Aircraft' in 1931) shows an accident at Brooklands, probably in late 1930, when G-ABAO was started up without chocks. Does anyone know the date?
This wasn't just pilot error but also Editorial aberration since quite clearly G-ABAO did not run into G-ABBW, quite the reverse! However, we still don't know when!
These Moths received C of As on 6.6.30 and 11.7.30 respectively and were still current at Brooklands in 1938 so the damage to G-ABAO may have been less serious than it looks.

  • Регистрационный номер: F-AIEB

We suspect that the accident above will not be too difficult to identify, so all that we will add is that it took place in 1926 and the haystack is British!
As shown above, this was Bleriot 155 airliner c/n 2 "Wilbur Wright" of Air Union (the only other being c/n 1, F-AICQ "Clement Ader") which crashed on 18.8.26 at College Farm, Hurst, near Aldington, Kent. The pilot P.Delisle and radio operator Ducos were both killed, together with two passengers.
