ZK-DQB was one of a batch of eight Rockwell S-2R Thrush Commanders imported in 1974 by Aerial Sowing Ltd of Amberley near Christchurch, all of which eventually found their way to the Australian register. Apart from one example with Aerial Work, the only NZ operators of the type were Rowley Aviation and Central Aviation.
