Air-Britain Aeromilitaria 2000-03 / Picture pages
Регистрационный номер: N136 N136 was a Parnall Puffin which first flew on 19 November 1920. Designed as a fighter-reconnaissance amphibian, the odd fin and rudder position was to give the rear gunner a clear field of fire aft, in common with the Fairey Pintail to the same specification. This was not a new idea as it had been used on German Hansa-Brandenburg seaplanes during the Great War.

As this machine belongs to the Air Ministry no technical details may be given beyond those which can be gathered from the photographs. The machine, which has a 450 h.p. THE PARNALL "PUFFIN": Front view of the machine with wings folded. The large angle of the planes when folded is due to the pronounced stagger. Note the amphibian gear working in a slot in the main float.
