The author in December 1917 when he was Flight Commander of “C” Flight, No 23 Sqn RFC, flying Spads.
Morane-Saulnier Type V A207 was issued to No 60 Sqn on September 13, 1917 but was struck off charge on September 26, possibly as a result of this mishap.
All four Type I Morane monoplanes acquired by the RFC were used by No 60 Sqn. A199 was flown several times by the author though he was not responsible for this mishap.
A Bristol Scout being started up overseas in 1916. Scouts saw much use with the RFC but never formed the sole equipment of any squadron.
Two views of B.E.2c 2502 of “C” Flight 1916. As a 2nd Lt the author flew this aircraft on several occasions.
