The Pakistan Air Force received the first ZDK-03 Karakorum Eagle (11-001) from China in December 2011 at Masroor AB, Karachi. Four of the airborne early warning and control aircraft were ordered in September 2008 for $278 million and the first was rolled out in November 2010. Deliveries are due at the rate of one aircraft per year between 2011 and 2014 and they will be assigned to a new squadron. This aircraft (11-002) is the second for the Pakistan Air Force and is seen here undergoing a test flight in China. In addition to the aircraft for Pakistan, at least one Chinese ZDK-03 ('733') has recently been noted, while what is believed to be the technology demonstrator for the variant ('T0518') has been with the Chinese Flight Test Establishment since at least 2005. -

The first clear photograph to emerge of one of the two KJ-500 prototypes, serial number ‘737’, on final approach to the CFTE base at Xi’an-Yanliang. The type is a next-generation medium-sized AWACS that is scheduled to enter service with the PLAAF.
