PAC Kamra has handed over 26 dual-seat JF-17B Thunders within the past 13 months that as well as supporting training will bring a new tactical capability to the PAF. Eventually they will be equipped with the new KLJ-7A AESA radar
Over 100 single-seat JF-17 Block I/IIs have so far been delivered to six PAF units
When the JF-17Bs are eventually handed over to 18 Sqn 'Sharp Shooters' at MM Alam air force base, it will effectively become the JF-17 OCU. The unit currently flies F-7Ps and FT-7Ps - it, another un-numbered squadron, are the last two units to fly these Chinese-built variants.
