Work on the BAe 146 feederliner progresses at Hatfield. It is seen moving down the final assembly line on a special tilting jig that allows the fin to clear the assembly hall roof.
Not a stock picture from our archives but the exciting scene at Long Beach, California on October 29, 1980. Howard Hughes’ 320ft span H-4 Hercules flying boat was towed out of its custom built hangar where it had lain for 33 years. The H-4 will be housed in a new “dry” hangar at Long Beach alongside the Queen Mary liner.

Rebuilding of the Salisbury Hall Mosquito FB.VI TA122 continues. With the acquisition of a complete wing from Israel, donated by the Kibutz Beit Alfa and generously flown to the UK by courtesy of El Al Cargo, the Mosquito is now 90 per cent complete.
A model of the winning entry to the Royal Aeronautical Society's Light Aeroplane Competition. The Brookfield BA-1 pusher v-tailed ducted fan aircraft was designed Alan Greenhalg designer of the Beagle Pup and Bulldog.
