H.M.360 No 1 F-PFKC, built by L.F. Gancel under the guidance of Henri Mignet, who made its first flight on the date proudly displayed on its side: June 12, 1959. The design was an update of the H.M.293, using more sophisticated construction techniques but still within the capabilities of the amateur.

Two views of Jean-Luc Watteel’s H. M.293 F-PYHD. The H.M.293 design of 1946, originally with a tailwheel, was developed from the wartime H.M.280 “Pou Maquis" and intended for amateur construction from plans. F-PYHD has flown many hundred of hours and is powered by a VW engine; the tricycle undercarriage is Watteel’s own modification.

Dominique Lascaud gave a spirited performance in his own-design Bifly, constructed in 1993. Unlike the UK, the French authorities use a special departement registration system for microlight aircraft, in this case 26GB. This Rotax 447-powered all-metal machine is available in France as a kit.
