Planes of Fame East's Boeing B-17G 44-85778 Miss Angela was photographed by NORMAN PEALING west of the Confederate Air Force's base at Midland, Texas, on October 2, 1995, the day after the CAF's Airsho 95. Piloted by Sam Korth, the Fortress was being flown back west to California for the winter.

W.G. Bowden asks for information on this Comet 4C marked "EVCC" and in BOAC colours which was acquired by a restoration group at Paine Field associated with the Boeing company. The group has already restored and flown a Boeing 247 and mainly consists of retired but enthusiastic Boeing employees.

Harold Holmes refers to Claims to Fame - the Lancaster by Norman Franks and is surprised that Lancaster LL772 was not included; he encloses a small photograph, showing its 113 operations, but his research at the PRO indicates 121, of which two were early returns and the last three were Operation Manna trips. The name Struth and the kangaroo insignia reflect the Australian influence of pilots Fg Off E.G. Ferriday (21 ops) and Fg Off S.G. Gooding (14 ops).
