This genuine 1929 Waco ATO Taperwing, powered by an uncowled 300 h.p. Wright R975 Whirlwind, belonged to Alan Hoeweler when the author photographed it in 1991.

Amateur-built Waco Taperwing T-10 N4ZP is owned by Scott White of Castlewood, Virginia, who bought it as a partly completed kit in 1992. It is powered by a 450 h.p. Pratt & Whitney Wasp Junior aircooled radial engine.
