Регистрационный номер: N259S NOT EXACTLY one of the most common surviving propliners, a Martin 4-0-4 is threatened with extinction at San Bernardino International Airport (the former Norton AFB) in Southern California. Registered N259S, the aircraft was grounded for numerous operating violations by the Federal Aviation Administration and had its airworthiness certificate pulled. The aircraft had been scheduled to fly to Venezuela where it was to join several other Martinliners for sightseeing flights. However, it may cost more than the aircraft’s value to reclaim the airworthiness certificate, so the 4-0-4’s future is in doubt.
