Регистрационный номер: FP502 From Dave Becker in South Africa we received several of the African photos used in the Dornier Do 27 monograph. Among the negatives we found the photo taken at Maputo in Macambique on 19.6.85. At the rear is C-47 FP-502 of F.A.M., next is ex-F.A.P. Harvard 1788 and then Do 27 3448 (c/n 233) of the F.P.L.M. We include the photo partly because of the overall interest (shamelessly to plug the Do 27 book!) and partly in the hope that Dave or any other of our readers in the region can help in identifying the Tiger!

The Fokker F.III failed to take off on its first passenger flight for British Air Lines and hit 'Glenrowan', the last house in Plough Lane. Date was definitely 10.9.29 with C of A only 23.8.29. It was repainted as V3388 in its original RAF markings at Staverton after the camouflage had been applied at Elstree. Jack Meaden, who marked it up for painting of the serials etc, recalls that the originals still showed through the old paint.

The first, G-ABPI, had been badly damaged in a crash two months earlier and was rebuilt as "Arethusa". G-ABTI was also repaired and both aircraft survived to be impressed into the Indian Air Force in 4.41.

Регистрационный номер: G-ADDT Short Scion G-ADDT with "T. Cameron Black" on the fuselage and "Gaumont British" on the tail. Where and when was this taken and what is the significance of these inscriptions?
Operated by Tom Campbell Black's flying circus, the Scion c/n S790 was also used for collection of cinema newsreels, hence the Gaumont British News titles. A head-on view shows starboard u/c leg broken but little other damage. Location was Westwood Heath aerodrome and the Scion was dismantled and taken to Brooklands for repair. We received this small photo of an unidentified Moth some time ago from Dan Hagedorn. Originally taken by Wm.R.Tomkins it shows a Gipsy Moth with balloon tyres, probably somewhere in Central or Southern America. An oval inscription behind the rear cockpit seems to include the word 'airways' but the rest is indecipherable. Any help in identifying the aircraft would be appreciated.

The Weir W-3 autogiro for which the Weir 50 hp engine was designed. One of these engines was supplied for the Taylor monoplane. It was smaller than the 90 hp Cirrus Minor and had the exhaust on the right hand side.
