A new two-seat operational training version of the MiG-25 (Foxbat) high-altitude air defence fighter and reconnaissance aircraft has recently made its appearance in East Germany. As illustrated by this close-up photograph of the forward fuselage, the training version of the MiG-25 features a separate cockpit for the pupil pilot, the insertion of which obviates the possibility of intercept radar or cameras. It may be assumed, therefore, that the two-seat MiG-25 possesses no secondary operational role.
