De Havilland Canada Coastwatch Dash 8 C-FXFK is one of three aircraft ordered by Skywest Aviation of Western Australia for the Australian Customs and Immigration service. The Coastwatch Dash 8s are equipped with Litton radars for their maritime patrol duties and this example was photographed at Pearson (Toronto) International Airport on March 14, 1996, prior to delivery.

Channel Islands-based Aurigny Air Services, which operates the world’s largest fleet of PBN Trislanders (nine) on inter-island services and to the UK and French mainland, rolled out its newly christened Nessie on February 29 at Guernsey. Nessie (G-RBSI, previously G-OTSB) symbolises the current interest in the Loch Ness monster, but more importantly, the launch of the Royal Bank of Scotland International (hence G-RBSI) and its scheme to donate 10p to the Save the Children Fund for every passenger carried in Nessie during the next 12 months. It is the SCF’s silver jubilee in the Channel Islands.
