Lancaster B.VII NX727 of No. 38 Squadron over Palestine in 1947 kindly supplied by Mike Bowyer. We think it is flying just north of what is now Netanya and is carrying the "RL" codes mentioned in connection with 279 Squadron in the last issue.

The airfield shown here has a few clues. It came from Hugh Brookes. Visible are two Ansons and four Henleys; the rest are Bothas.
The puzzlepic was of Evanton after this pre-war armament practice station was built up and received runways.

Dave Vincent has supplied the photograph of one of No.204 Squadron's Londons at Williamstown. Not RAAF Williamtown (fortunately as it is some way from the sea) but RAN Williamstown, Melbourne, where there is a small naval base. The aircraft is K9686 and it is minus one of its engines because of an unfortunate incident.

Allan Church has sent in the photo of Argus HB578 belonging to No.221 Group Communications Squadron, taken at Mingaladon. We intended to put it in the HA-HZ Register but it got side-tracked, one of the penalties of having too much paper for the available space.
