Регистрационный номер: D-1674 A further angle on our Elly Beinhorn features is provided by this original autographed photograph of the pilot in her Messerschmitt M 23b D-1674 c/n 466 which she acquired in 9.29. It appears to refer to a Berlin to Venice flight, though the date and place of the photo are unknown it was clearly winter. It was probably signed for an Italian (as "Venezia" is used rather than the German version "Venedig") and we note the spelling of her name with a 'y'.
The photo of Elly Beinhorn in Venice was almost certainly taken in Spring 1930 according to Harm Hazewinkel. A Scandinavian businessman in Rome needed his dress suit and decorations which were in Berlin. Being a Sunday there were no scheduled airline flights and the only suitable sportsplane at Berlin-Staaken was Elly's M 23b D-1674. She flew to Vienna that day and next day continued to Venice where officials stopped her flight because she lacked the necessary paper work, although the flight had been authorized by the Italian consulate in Berlin. Her first international flight therefore came to an end and the suit, which completed the journey by Italian airliner, was 24 hours late!Самолёты на фотографии: Messerschmitt BFW M.23 / M.27 - Германия - 1928
