One requiring identification from a little later in 1954, this KLM Constellation appears to be doing a passable impression of a beached whale.
Photo p.95/82 showed KLM L.1049C PH-LKY (4509) "Triton", Capt A Viruly, which crashed on takeoff at Shannon 0340 hrs 5.9.54. Flaps raised too early and aircraft failed to climb. Three crew and 25 passengers died of 56 occupants, most from asphyxiation but 2 drowned during rescue attempts.
