Регистрационный номер: N7334 [3] Hudson N7334 was shot down in error by fighters near Gravesend on 3 March 1940. The distinctive shape of a Hudson made it difficult to understand why it was not recognised but Michael Rice has provided some clues.
His late father-in-law, a photographic technical officer in Sidney Cotton's team, took some photos of another Hudson of No. 2 Camouflage Unit at Heston for use by the Board of Enquiry and it become clearer why the Hurricane pilots thought it was a Do 17. With no turret and non-standard camouflage, the Hudson is completely changed.
The question is: why the odd camouflage and did N7334 also have no turret fitted. Which would be logical if there was a shortage of turretsСамолёты на фотографии: Lockheed Hudson A-28 / A-29 - США - 1938
