What appears to be the serial 230177-F appears on the fin of the de-militarised Boeing B-17F with the Cross of Lorraine below it. A few windows have been cut in the fuselage but what is the object on side of the fuselage aft of the square window?
It has been suggested that the thing on the fuselage is only the tip of the tailplane, which seems to be the case on closer inspection.

Curtiss Kittyhawk IV 867 was struck off charge on 23 August 1946, having served with No. 132 Squadron. Originally allotted the USAAF serial 42-105867, it was delivered to the RCAF and taken on charge on 17 September 1943. It survived the breakers to be returned to the USA and was registered N1226N.

Canberra WT479 in Suez stripes at Nicosia in October 1956. Although officially on the strength of Station Flight Upwood, it arrived with No.61 Squadron. The odd thing about it is that it is a T.4. Why would 61 Squadron want a T.4 when it had been despatched to Cyprus for bombing operations?

The Northrop N3P-B seaplane was ordered by the Royal Norwegian Navy but none of the eighteen had been delivered when the Germans invaded. No.330 Squadron was formed on 25 April 1941 at Reykjavik for the defence of Iceland and the 18 Northrops arrived on 19 May in SS Fjordheim. One aircraft has been preserved in Norway.
