The first prototype of the HAL HA-31 Mk 2 agricultural monoplane (VT-XAO) was joined by a second prototype mid-September 1972 and is scheduled to complete its test programme by April 1973.
The HAL HA-31 Mk 2 bears no relationship to the original HA-31 tested in prototype form in 1969 apart from a common design team headed by Mr S C Das, chief designer of HAL's Bangalore Division.
