This Caudron Simoun visited Britain in August 1935, piloted by Belgian Guy Hansez. In it he won that year's Wakefield Cup at an average speed of 177-5m.p.h.

We think Mr Swindale’s photograph shows the Rohrbach Ro.II seaplane, not the Ro.III. The engines would appear to be Rolls-Royce Eagle IXs, projecting well forward of the wing leading edge and giving ample water clearance for the propellers.
