  • Two weeks before opening day, and still lots to be done... This was the scene in the RAF Museum's Battle of Britain Hall at Hendon on March 29, 1990, where preparations for the new Battle of Britain Experience exhibition were reaching fever pitch. It will have opened by the time this issue is published, and will be well worth a visit. Seen here are Sunderland ML824 - part of the Battle of the Atlantic section - and the museum's recently-rebuilt V1 which had just been hoisted into the rafters.
