PV202 well on the way to completion in Steve Atkins’s workshop at Battle in East Sussex in September 1989. The rear cockpit design is based on that of ML407/G-LFIX, restored by the late Nick Grace in the early Eighties.

PV202 after conversion as a Tr.9 two-seater with the Irish Air Corps. Serialled 161 and delivered in June 1951, it flew until the end of 1960 when it became a ground instructional airframe at Baldonnel, Dublin. The photograph is thought to have been taken in 1956.

Not PV202 - despite the code VZ-W - but one of its sister aircraft of 412 Sqn RCAF in Germany during 1945. Possibly Mk XIV TB272, it sports similar markings to PV202 with all its roundels red, white, blue and yellow. On the left is Fg Off H. W. Grant, who shot down an Fw 190 while flying PV202 near Coesfeld on March 17, 1945.
