Liberator II AL555, a former 159 Sqn aircraft, pictured at Foggia Main, Italy, in November 22, 1943. This black-and-camouflaged, unarmed Liberator was used for supply/personnel drops.

A corner of the Liberator graveyard at Chakeri in 1947, showing at least 30 aircraft awaiting the axe. In accordance with Lend-Lease terms most B-24s were condemned to be destroyed after RAF use.
