Lefty Gardner’s Lockheed P-38 White Lightnin' made its farewell appearance at this year’s Reno races on September 15-18, 1994, before retirement to the Palm Springs Air Museum. Gardner performed his aerobatic routine and took part in the Silver Unlimited race, then flew several circuits of the course as a final goodbye.
