Neil Rose’s newly-completed Canadian Hawker Hurricane XIIB RCAF 5667/“N2549”, which made its maiden post-restoration flight in May 1994, appeared at the Northwest Antique Airplane Club’s fly-in at Evergreen Field, Vancouver, Washington on August 20-21.

A rare sight: the world’s four surviving airworthy Junkers Ju 52s in formation. Lufthansa’s D-AQUI and the Swiss Ju-Air company’s A-701/HB-HOS, A-702/HB-HOT and A-703/HB-HOP converged on Dessau in eastern Germany for a get-together on August 20-21, 1994 to celebrate the reopening to general traffic of the city’s airport, which was the Junkers company’s pre-war factory airfield. D-AQUI has been touring the UK on a pleasure-flying visit in recent weeks.

The Bristol Aero Collection’s Sycamore XJ917 and Scout D replica were on static display at Filton on August 19-20, 1994 for the collection’s highly successful museum fundraising event. Mikael Carlsson brought his Thulin A to the UK from Sweden for Duxford’s Family Air Show on September 11, 1994. He has about 6hr flying time on the 1918 licence-built Bleriot XI, and impressed the Duxford crowd with an extended hop attaining 40-50ft.
