Hispano-Suiza, Bernard 191 l’Oiseau Canari had an estimated range of nearly 3,500 miles - plenty to enable it to fly from Maine to Paris, if only an American journalist had not stowed away in the back end of the fuselage. In the event, the aircraft landed in Spain after almost 29hr aloft.
