T.Wills - Aloha Airlines - A Hawaiian Saga /Commercial/
To celebrate the airline's 60th anniversary Boeing 737-230 (A), N823AL, was repainted earlier this year in the 'Funbird' scheme of the late 1960s and '70s.
As well as the newer -700s, Aloha Airlines also operates 13 of the earlier Boeing 737-200s. Four of these are used for cargo services on inter-island freight flights.
Aloha also currently operates two Boeing 737-200s, N250TR and N252TR, which have been leased from Pace Airlines. These aircraft still wear the basic livery of Hooters Air, but with Aloha titles.
Earlier this year Aloha Airlines emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and is now under new ownership. Pictured is one of the carrier's eight Boeing 737-700s.
Aloha received its first Boeing 737-700s in February 2000. The longer range these aircraft could fly allowed the airline to launch services to the US mainland.
