Meteor strikes its first blow
Britannia Airways Boeing 737, G-BGYL.
Formerly a test bed and executive aircraft owned by the Bendix Corporation, this B-25J Mitchell was acquired by the Canadian Warplane Heritage and restored to military configuration. MICHAEL O’LEARY’S photograph of HD372/C-CCWM was taken before the addition of eight nose guns and a top turret.
Last year more than £6,000 was raised towards the Shuttleworth Hangar Appeal Fund by Aeroplane Monthly readers who paid to fly in Tony Haig-Thomas' D.H.60G Moth G-ATBL. This Moth, now the pride and joy of Mike Vaisey, is the subject of GORDON BAIN's photograph.
