The Nordenfeld-engined Short No. I on its starting rail prior to an attempted flight. In this form the aircraft never got further than a few inches from the end of the rail. When powered by a 50-h.p. Green it flew in the Isle of Sheppey.

A much modified ex-Grace S.27 in its final tractor form . It had been Grace's idea to convert it in this way, but work slowed down after his death and Frank McClean had it finished later.
