  • An early production Yak-9 in a Soviet museum. It will be noted that this particular aircraft features the more angular wingtips introduced at a relatively early stage of Yak-9 production. Its upper surfaces are finished in the black-and-green camouflage scheme referred to by Mr Gifford. This finish makes interesting comparison with that of the La-5 in the background which sports dark olive green and dark brown upper surfaces

  • The Yak-1M with the 33 ft 7 2/3 in (10,25 m) wing with pointed tips that was also applied to some production Yak-1 fighters. No Yak-1M fighters features the short-span wing standardised by the Yak-3.
