Регистрационный номер: B3479 The Spad 13s of No 23 Squadron, RFC. Aircraft N is B3479, the first Spad 13 to be delivered to the RFC. It appears to be the only aircraft to have been finished in P.C.10; all the others retain their French camouflage.

This late-production Spad 13 of Escadrille Spa.3 was photographed at Germersheim on 22 October 1919. The detachable side panel marked “Photo” proclaimed that the aircraft could, when required, carry a camera installation for photographic reconnaissance.

A Spad 13 of the final production form in service with an unidentified escadrille. This photograph shows clearly the lower end of the chute for empty cartridge cases. On late-production aircraft its outlet was in the fuselage flank, below the mid-point of the exhaust pipe. A similar chute served the the starboard gun.
