Another view of the Armstrong Whitworth AW15 G-ABTI "Atalanta", this one showing the actual crash site at Kisumu (3.11.35). Comparison with the photo on p87/81 shows the registration to have been painted out to preserve anonimity.

Roscoe Turner's Wedell-Williams racer NR61Y shown after being rebuilt following its accident on 30.8.36. It was as race number 57 (sponsor Heinz!) that it won the 1933 Bendix and 1934 Thompson races for Turner but after the rebuild it was renumbered 25.
