    Tipsy S2 c/n 102 G-AESU was the second built by Fairey and lasted less than six months before it crashed in September 1937. It had A to F No.128. The S2 single seaters were a short-lived series, all six on the British register having careers that started and ended in 1937. By comparison the Tipsy B two-seater was a successful and long-lasting design. The S2 was powered by the 28 hp Douglas Sprite flat twin.

  • The third Gordon Dove G-AEZB was redesigned and was described by one of its owners, the late Harold Best-Deveraux, as having a new fin and rudder without bracing, increased area tailplane and elevators and a trousered undercarriage. The three-view, based on a manufacturer's drawing, matches H.B-D's description and is believed to show the redesign, although no photographs to prove this appear to have survived its last accident. G-AEZB c/n 3 had A to F No.136.

    DH.53 Humming Bird prototype c/n 98 on an early test flight in 1923 before being painted with its regn G-EBHX. The Douglas flat twin engine was replaced after the Daily Mail trials at Lympne by the 698cc Blackburne Tomtit engine which gave 26 hp.

    The Drone De Luxe had the water cooled Carden Ford 32 hp engine and divided undercarriage standardised on later production. A to F 111 G-AEKU c/n 29 is seen here with an enclosed cockpit.

    The Kronfeld parasol monoplane G-AESG c/n 33 A to F 130 was called a Drone in the list but it was a more sophisticated design developed from it. It was flown as a single seater with the second cockpit covered over.

    The Helmy Aerogypt G-AFFG in its Mk I form with three 22 hp Douglas Sprites and tailwheel undercarriage. A unique feature was the detachable fairing on top of the cabin which increased the curvature of the aerofoil section fuselage to provide extra lift. The fairing is seen painted a darker colour in Brian Stainer's photo on p.88/106 of the remains of the Aerogypt in its Mk IV form when it had a taller fin and rudder, a tricycle undercarriage and two 65 hp Continental flat-four engines.
