G-AAZV "Jason II" c/n 2077 was presented to Amy Johnson by DH and it is seen here at the time with the original small fin and rudder and high pressure tyres. It was modified with the larger fin and rudder and low pressure tyres and on 28.7.31 Amy used it for a record-breaking flight from London to Japan by way of Siberia, returning by the same route and arriving 9.9.31.

C J Melrose arrived in England in VH-UQO c/n 2089 from Australia 9.34 after a record flight of 8 days 9 hr to take part in the England-Australia air race. The Puss Moth has a Gipsy Major engine with Melrose's name and origin on the cowling. It is seen in front of Fokker F.XXXVI PH-AJA which arrived at Croydon 28.9.34 and was also a race entry but was not ready in time.

G-ABDI c/n 2091 with Belgian owner Georges Hanet (or Hornet?) and the trophy for the Coupe Challenge International St Hubert which he won in September 1930. The narrow high pressure tyres were often used for racing and competition aircraft, a practice inherited from the Gipsy Moths as they were considered to have less drag than the later low pressure 'balloon' tyres.

C/n 2097 OK-ATF wearing Bata titles was one of three Puss Moths registered to the shoe company in Czechoslovakia although they also owned others elsewhere.

Puss Moth c/n 2100 "Marao" in Portuguese Air Force markings at Baghdad. It was flown by Capt Cardoso and Lt Piemental from Lisbon to Goa where it subsequently remained.

VH-UQO being marshalled out carrying its race no. 16. Its long exhaust has been removed in favour of 4 stubs, a metal prop has been fitted and spats cover the wheels. The name "My Hildergarde" can be seen on the nose.

G-AAZW c/n 2090 was owned through the thirties by Geoffrey Garnett in Yorkshire. Doubtless he is one of the party posing with the aircraft in this rough field setting.

"STAGE AND SCREEN": The inaugural meeting of the Stage and Screen Aero Club was held at Hatfield Aerodrome on Sunday, July 24. The de Havilland School Clubhouse was the venue. In the foreground is the demonstrator "Puss Moth" of Brian Lewis, Ltd. Flt. Lt. Comper showed off a "Swift" (Gipsy III) during the afternoon.
By 29th July 1932, when Flight published this photo of Brian Lewis Ltd's c/n 2081 G-ABDH at the inaugural meeting of the Stage and Screen Aero Club held at Hatfield on 24th July, it was no more, having crashed following structural failure in a thunderstorm on 27th July.

During the same visit to Kuala Lumpur, VT-ABG with engine running and wheels close to the board tee which indicates the direction of landing for aircraft in the air. Alongside is the cover over an underground fuel tank, with a hangar built of local materials on the boundary.
