Регистрационный номер : G-ABYE This converted Bristol F.2B was owned for a time by A.M. Emmett, a teacher at St Edward's School who once taught John Bent. Bent took this picture at Port Meadow, Oxford. Formerly F4721, this Brisfit was registered in December 1932 and was based for a while at Woodley, Reading. Later it was sold to Universal Aircraft Services and based at Witney. The registration was cancelled in 1938.

Регистрационный номер : G-ACIN [2] Another view of Cierva C.30P G-ACIN, about to be flown by Juan de la Cierva at Hanworth. Sister aircraft G-ACIO became the first autogiro to land on a ship in Europe on March 7, 1934, when Cierva landed on the Spanish Navy's Dedalo moored off Valencia.

Регистрационный номер : EA-SCA Cierva C.30A c/n 756 was built for the Spanish Navy and is seen at Hanworth in September 1934. The markings should have been EC-SCA - perhaps someone can explain why it carried the marks seen here.

Percival Gull 4 G-ACLG pictured at Heston while owned by Loel Guinness. The 601 Sqn flying sword motif is carried on the fin. In November 1934 the Gull was sold to Indian National Airways, based at Delhi, becoming VT-AFV.

Percival Gull 4 G-ACHM was registered in May 1933. Later it was owned by Brian Allen Aviation Ltd and extensively used by journalists to cover the 1935 Italo-Abyssinian war. Here it is named Vigilant and in the colours of the British Air Navigation Company Ltd. In May 1936 the Gull was sold in France where it became F-AQLZ.

Stinson SR.5A NC13857 at Heston. The 1934 Stinson Reliant model was the most popular of the series. The four-seater was powered by a nine-cylinder Lycoming R-6806. About 75 were built at the Wayne, Michigan Stinson Aircraft plant.

Регистрационный номер : G-ABMD D.H.80A Puss Moth G-ABMD snapped at Heston. Registered in May 1931, this Puss was later extensively modified to compete in the Warsaw International Touring Competition in 1934. G-ABMD perished in the famous Hooton Park fire of July 11, 1940.

Francis Francis's Sikorsky S-38B G-ABYS photographed at its Heston base. Powered by two 425 h.p. Wasps, this 71ft 8in span air yacht cruised at 110 m.p.h. and originally cost around $50,000. Formerly NC15V, 'YS was later sold in France and on August 12, 1939 was lost in a crash at Calabar, Niger Colony.
