One of the museum’s “bad guys” is Chinese-built MiG-15 N15MG, which was operated by the Chinese Navy before being sold to the USA along with four similar aircraft.

Boeing B-17G F-AZDX Lucky Lady, operated jointly in France by the Salis Collection, the Institut Geographique Nationale and the Association GMF, is expected to join five other B-17s for filming in the UK in June 1989.

All-red Hawker Hunter N611JR, formerly belonged to the late Mike Carlton's UK-based Hunter One Collection, recently reborn as Jet Heritage Ltd. It is painted to represent Neville Duke's record-setting WB188.

At Weybridge, the Brooklands Museum has recently acquired BAE Harrier 52 demonstrator G-VTOL and former Royal Danish Air Force Hawker Hunter F.51 E-421. Both are on loan from BAe, and aviation curator Julian Temple (0932 857381) needs restoration volunteers.

Spitfire XVIE SL574, restored by No 2 Training Wing at RAF Halton, was formally exchanged for P-51D Mustang N6526D at Halton on April 20, 1989 after a seven-month delay. The Spit is going to the San Diego Aerospace Museum in California, the P-51 to the RAF Museum at Hendon.

As part of a European tour planned for July 15-31, 1989, Giancarlo Zanardo's Bleriot XI-2 replica I-PONI is scheduled to make an 80th anniversary reenactment of Louis Bleriot’s historic Channel crossing of July 25, 1909. From Conegliano in Northern Italy, Zanardo completed the Continental C85-powered replica last year; it first flew on November 12, 1988.

Canadair Sabre Mk 6 N8687D, imported into the USA in the Seventies, is now one of two Sabres operated by the museum. It is painted as The Huff, an aircraft flown by Lt Jim Thompson during the Korean War.

Photographed by a reader from Bahrain at the old airport in Sharjah city centre, United Arab Emirates, this dismantled two-seat Hunter lacks an engine but is otherwise fairly complete. No serial was visible.
