  • Регистрационный номер: B1000

Avro 504A or 504J B1000 on a trailer after its crash at Kilsby, four miles south of Lilbourne. The pilot was Teasdale - perhaps he is the chap sitting on the trailer in flying kit, smoking a cigarette. B1000 was the last of a mixed batch of 100 Avro-built 504As and 504Js - the difference being only in the engine: the J had a 100 h.p. Gnome Monosoupape, while the A had either a Gnome, a Le Rhone or a Clerget, all of 80 h.p.

  • Another Sopwith Pup crash at Lilbourne, the unfortunate pilot this time being Smith.

  • Регистрационный номер: A7343

Another crash at Lilbourne, this time involving a Sopwith Pup and, apparently, a very heavy landing. The pilot on this occasion was Yeoman. The Pup was A7343, built by the Standard Motor Co Ltd, Coventry; it would probably have been on the strength of 55 or 73 Sqn.

  • Регистрационный номер: A583

B.E.12a A583, flown by Cassa, down at Ruddington, 4 1/2 miles south of Nottingham. Built by Coventry Ordnance Works as a B.E.12, A583 was converted to 12a standard with the installation of B.E.2e-style flying surfaces. It was powered by a 140 h.p. R.A.F.4a 12-cylinder vee engine.

  • Another view of Langley's overturned B.E.2e, 7124. The aircraft had clearly undergone repairs at some time before this accident - note the clear-doped fabric on the outer five rib bays of the starboard upper wing, and a similar patch apparently newly-doped in dark-brown P.C.10 on the port upper.

  • Bristol-built Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2e 7124 crashed and overturned at Lilbourne, just north-east of Rugby, during a training flight. Edens' original caption refers to the event as “Bob Langley's crash", but no date is given. The unit is not known either, although four RFC squadrons, Nos 34, 55, 73 and 84, would have been based at Lilbourne during Edens' time there in mid-1916 to summer 1917.
