A Martin Baltimore Mk IV, probably either FA441 or FA446 of 55 Sqn, which wan disbanded on November 1, 1946. Both aircraft were subsequently transferred to the South African Air Force. Developed to British requirements from the Martin Maryland, with the addition of more powerful double-row engines and a deeper fuselage to allow better crew communication, the Baltimore was used by the RAF exclusively in the Mediterranean, making its name with the light bomber squadrons of the Desert Air Force.

An unidentified Handley Page Halifax at Khartoum in 1946. It carries the name You’ll be Sorree, and was flown on Exercise Gordon which, in May 1946, involved towing gliders from Palestine to the Sudan.
