How it all began. The Royal Air Force celebrated its 75th anniversary on April 1, 1993; this rare and evocative 1918-style formation of two Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5as, photographed by PHOTO LINK in May 1987, features the Shuttleworth Collection’s F904 flown by Angus McVitie and the late Hon Patrick Lindsay’s G-BLXT/B4683 flown by Tony Bianchi.
From an original painting by Gerald Palmer, the print depicts de Havilland Heron G-AORG Duchess of Brittany over Jersey’s Corbiere lighthouse.
